TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING,BUT I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP.I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS,I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.
THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED -THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE,BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATIONWITH ALL OF MY MIGHT.
TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION,THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR,AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.
GOBBLED UP TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES,PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES.I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND..
I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE SKY,WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES....HAPPY EATING TO ALL - PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.
MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY,MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP..MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP.MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS.MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS!!
We have had several family members who have served our country in many capacities.
Right now, we currently have 2 family members who are actively serving away from their homes and families.
GySgt Allen Goodyear is in Afganistan.
MJR Paul Smith is in Korea.
Let us all remember them in our hearts and prayers as remember what happened on September 11, 2001.

I've gotten asked several times about the cookbook that we started putting together last summer. It has not been dropped. Lisa has just been waiting for more recipes to come in. So we've decided to put it online so everyone can access what has already been submitted and we can keep adding as people send more in.
For those of you who do not "do" computers, we can provide a hard copy of the book, but you may not recieve anymore recipes other than what we have right now. Just email Elissa if you would prefer a hard copy of the book.
I have not gotten all the recipes online quite yet, but am working on it. Keep checking back and if you have any others you would like to add, please feel free to email them to me and I can put them on. Danny's childhood friend set up a foundation in Danny's name, Its called The Danny Boy foundation. The friend who set it up used to live on our street. He emailed my Mom one day and explained it to her and asked if it would be ok. Of course we were glad that Danny made such an impacted on His friend, it also brought up a lot of memories, kind of emotional for all of us to take in but we are glad he did it... So if you could put the web site on there or something, that would be wonderful i just want everyone to read what the foundation is about and what he wrote about Danny.
